T.A.R.C. History

Based on the same hobby and interest, on July 1st 1996, the TARC (Taichung Amateur Radio Club) was established by several amateur-radio fans located in Taiwan central area.
The purposes of this club is to provide members the opportunity to practice the skills of amateur radio, to understand the international communication and  exchange experience and information.
By holding various activities, there are more than 40 members who are actively involved in the development of this club. Everyone enjoys this club just like a big happy family.
In addition, the founder of TARC, Mr. Chang Cheng-Yung, has set up a monthly meeting for this club since it was founded. Due to this tradition, those meetings have accumulated for more than 40 times, which provide members the chance to organize activities and to exchange information.
Even though the members have their formal job, there are still some active volunteers, such as BV4RA, BX4AH, BX4AAA and many others, who organize newsletters and send to all the members on a monthly basis. Those newsletters provide information regarding meeting record and activity.
Besides the monthly meeting, we often organize tours for our members and their families. Because of those tours, all the members understand each other and enjoy them a lot.
Also, TARC has continuously developed the international relation with the global amateur radio fans. Besides the Japanese amateur radio JA3YTE, Mr. Kada, JE1REU, Mr. Haruo, who have visited TARC, the British International Morse Preservation Society (FISTS) and Diploma Interest Group (DIG) in Germany have published 3 kinds of TARC Awards on their journals. There are more than 30 awards of TARC have been applied, which builds TARC the global recognition.
TARC is a friendship based club. The members who join TARC have learnt a lot, experienced a lot and enjoyed a lot. Once you are interested on amateur radio, and appreciate TARC's principle, you are always welcome to join us!
